# Hadwiger problem

The Hadwiger problem is the problem of finding the largest number of subcubes (not necessarily different) into which a cube cannot be divided by plane cuts. It is named after the Swiss mathematician Hugo Hadwiger (1908–1981). The solution to the problem is 47 and was discovered as a result of work by Scott (1947), D. Rychener and A. Zbinden (1977), (Guy 1977), and Gardner (1992).
