They said we never quarreled;
little disagreements were unimportant...
We said we were a quiet family,
content with fireside, never restless...
He said he had a fine sense of humor
and I didn't; always "teasing"...
He said not to worry;
always macho, it couldn't happen to him...
I said I thought that independence

We said we were a quiet family,
content with fireside, never restless...

He said not to worry;
always macho, it couldn't happen to him...
it did.
I said I thought that independence
was the only true security...
I am not lonely.
