The Ecphorizer

Ma Bell, You've Rung Me Wrong
Diane Reynolds Miller

Issue #20 (April 1983)

"At the tone
leave your name,
number to phone"
all the same
Cute-iful talk:
"We're not here,
gone for a walk,
be a dear  -
leave a message."
Half past two
you're late again.
What to do?
I'll have to pen
a message
Tacked to your door.
(I'll not phone!)
I've declared war
on the tone.

Diane Reynolds Miller, in a revolt against Creeping Mechanization, has trained her cat to take phone messages.  She is a former staffer at The Ecphorizer.
