Rooms are assigned and intrigue spreads
over the drawing room, is invited out to the garden.
Each scene is set in a passage rich in attention to detail. This is how we live. Characters sketched in a few broad strokes in a given room at a given time, endless conversations restating the obvious. Even the motives are arranged and fit the times. This is what happens next. Dark mystery spread on thin plot, meaningful glance. Dear reader, I give you page after page of a solid world where nothing changes. You in a house of mirrors with tilting floor and shrinking line. ![]() Poet MARGOT TREITEL has an MA in American Studies and has spent two years teaching in West Africa.
