Issue #54 (February 1986)

'Twas boot-time, and the slithy bytes
Did gyre and gimbal in the RAM;
All mimsy were the I/O ports
As the ROM routines began.

"Beware the Macintosh, my son!
The error codes in RAM-based cache!
Beware the interrupts and shun
The frumious system crash!"

He pushed the digital mouse around
Long time the interface he sought —
At last the entry points he found
And looped awhile in thought.

But soon, responding to his guile,
The Mac, in both Pascal and C
Accepted source text from his file
Compiling error-free!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The digital mouse went slither-beep!
He overrode, and loaded code
Onto the system heap.

"And hast thou crashed the Macintosh?
List out thy source, my hackish nerd!
O Frabjous code! In run-time mode,
Your vectors are absurd!"

'Twas boot-time, and the slithy bytes
Did gyre and gimbal in the RAM;
All mimsy were the I/O ports
As the ROM routines began.

Andy Fish, our staff mascot, and others in his school is the name used when authors (usually one G. Towner) wish to cloak their identity as the writer of certain inappropriate fish stories. All of Andy's aliases are listed under Andy's name. Otherwise we'd run out of room in the Contributors list!
