c/o The Ecphorizer:
Kentucky. A very carefully planned environment, boasting a unique educational system, and among the most beautiful of states. The educational system has safeguards to preserve a sense of equality and achievement attained by lowering its standards to a point where students can learn yet remain ignorant, enlightened by the knowledge that ignorance is bliss. The beauty of the land is carefully preserved under a special coating of junk cars and garbage dumps. They condemn intellectualism as a danger to the environment. Yankees are welcomed as slaves.

[line width="40%"]Dear Eck:
I am writing mostly to send in my renewal check, but do have to report a chuckle I got off page 22 of the May issue. Gareth's "put all their Basques in one exit" was readily decoded to a corresponding entry on my copy of the "Wretched Mess Calendar for 1985 (Back Again for the 1st Time)" by Milford Poltroon of West Yellowstone, Montana. In the month of Sliptimber (loose logs month), in the week of the 8th (footbone connected to your mouthbone week) Poltroon nominates the 8th as "Space out your Spaniards Day (Don't Put All Your Basques in One Exit)." Hah! My spies are everywhere!
