The Ecphorizer

Lines of Excommunication
Neal Wilgus

Issue 09 (April 2007)

I excommunicate the world
with one bold stroke of pen:
I excommunicate it all - and then
I turn and take it back again!

The Wanderer and the Fool
Neal Wilgus

Issue 09 (April 2007)

A wanderer,
wise in the ways of the road,
met a fool
and his mule.

The wanderer
smiled and said as he strode,
"Do you fear
to leave here?"

The fool
had wandered far in his dreams
and was wise
in disguise.

"A fool,"
he said, his eyes speaking reams,
"need not go
to find woe."

Born Again
Neal Wilgus

Issue 09 (April 2007)

I had a second helping
of the last supper -
the dinner was a downer
but the wine was an upper.

The floorshow was dull-
more than I could suffer.
I went and had a secret smoke -
a reality buffer.

The whole thing seemed stupid -
the saviour seemed a sucker.
When I see the kiss of death
I sure as hell don't pucker!
