The Ecphorizer

Fellowship
Sheila E. Murphy

Issue #47 (July 1985)

As though canonized while you're alive,
You're given the choice
Whether to be physical, recognizable, alive
Or unseen, therefore unable
To be interacted with or touched.
The latter, a result of fellowship
Awarded, granted, then accepted.
You talk and do not listen.
No one talks to you
Except in a third person way,
The way we pray to saints to intercede.

SHEILA E. MURPHY has published poetry In England, Australia, and Israel, as well as the US.

Reality
Malcolm Scott Mac Kenzie

Issue #47 (July 1985)

Social reality
is
quicksand

Youthful steps
toward individuation
stagnate
and sink
in the mire of obligations
until buried
