an online magazine of bold ideas

Hello and welcome! You've reached The Ecphorizer Online, an online magazine that has its roots in the print magazine of the same name published in the 1980s.

This site serves to recognize and memorialize on the Internet the creative work that the original Ecphorizer project brought to readers more than 30 years ago under the direction of Founder and Editor Emeritus George Towner.

The print project began in 1981 with the original Ecphorizer, which published opinions, stories, drawings articles, and the occasional bit of humor.

The Ecphorizer Online has been on the Internet since 2000.  Following initial push to publish the entire printed work under Editor George Towner (issues 1 - 70), staffer Tod Wicks began adding new articles from contributors and stories selected, with permission, from the Internet until 2008.

My uncle Tod began chasing other adventures and The Ecphorizer site remained dormant with no further development or content until late 2018, when I took over the operation.  The old setup had developed a few cracks in the foundational programming and I contracted with a developer to rework and modernize the frameworks.  The new site went live on November 1, 2018, and I think the new layout and structure looks and feels fantastic.  However, there ard a number of cosmetic and other wrinkles to iron out.  Please bear with us during our shakedown period.

I don't yet know if I'll be able to attract new contributions but I will keep the site operational.  In the meantime, enjoy the current offerings, that is, the contents of over 30 years ago.
